Thanks to modern medicine, the chances of surviving an illness are becoming greater.

Critical illness insurance provides a lump sum benefit if you contract and survive one of the covered conditions, including cancer, stroke, multiple sclerosis, coronary heart disease and about 22 other conditions. The lump sum benefit you receive can pay for the cost or your treatment and rehabilitation, or living expenses up to the face value of your policy.

This insurance can be purchased as an individual policy or may be offered as an Employer-sponsored benefit.
